Visaginas' first city project and the sculpture "Muse"

The original design of the city - the first vision of the architects of St. Petersburg on how Visaginas (Sniečkus) should look like - is exhibited in the branch of the Visaginas Public Library, located at 14/3 Sedulina Avenue. In this project, each building was given a specific purpose, and industrial, residential, city centre and municipal areas were carefully planned. The architects modelled a highly developed infrastructure with kindergartens, schools, a hospital and personalised shops for men and women. This exhibit is of particular interest to those interested in the history of the city and its planning.
The Visaginas Public Library branch houses another valuable work of art, the sculpture "The Muse" (1986) by the famous sculptor Gediminas Žuklis. This work not only enriches the library space, but also symbolises creativity and artistic expression.
The library also has a wide range of publications about Visaginas, which you can explore in more detail.
Library opening hours:
Tuesday-Friday: 11:00-19:00.
Saturday: 10:00-17:00.
