As you approach Lake Baltas, a breathtaking sight greets you: the surface of the water shines with a special colour that makes everyone stop and admire this natural wonder. The colour of the lake's water differs from other lakes due to some unique geological features that allow it to keep its water clean and clear. As well as being an eye-catcher, Lake White is also a place with many recreational opportunities.

The Visaginas Recreation Service Centre's   „Visaginas Park“ is located next to this beautiful lake and houses one of Visaginas' most popular attractions, the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant Control Panel Simulator. This unique object allows visitors to get a unique experience of a world that for many years was mysterious and inaccessible to most people.

The Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant Unit Control Panel Simulator is an accurate 1:1 scale model of the Unit 2 control panel. It is not only an impressive piece of technology, but also a very important training tool that has helped to ensure safety at the nuclear power plant. The simulator became operational in 1997, when safety requirements became much more stringent after the Chernobyl accident and training methods had to be updated to avoid human error.
